Custom Works Commission Process
My Custom Works Series is an opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind piece of glass art inspired by your story, your memories, or your vision.
While I welcome a variety of custom commissions, I am especially passionate about creating custom glass portraits. Creating portraits of my own parents became a deeply personal part of my artistic journey. Through their features, I found a way to work through my grief, reconnect with their memories, and express my love for them. That experience inspired me to offer this deeply meaningful form of portraiture to others.
Custom Glass Portraits
A portrait commission is a personal collaboration. I invite you to share photographs, memories, and stories about the person you would like me to create. My goal is not simply to reproduce a likeness, but to capture something of their spirit, character, and the feeling they evoke.
The process begins with watercolor and design studies, followed by developing a unique glass colour palette and creating small test firings. Once the design is established, I create custom glass components and carefully build the portrait piece by piece through multiple kiln firings. The finished glass is then ground and polished to reveal its depth, colour, and luminosity.
Each portrait is completely unique and created especially for you. Because of the many stages involved, commissions generally take two months or more, depending on the size and complexity of the work. A custom welded steel stand can also be created in my studio for display.

I also welcome commissions inspired by my previous work shown in the Custom Art Gallery. Whether you have seen a piece that inspires you or have an idea of your own, I would be happy to discuss creating something uniquely suited to you, your home, or your garden.
Memorial Glass Art
I also create memorial pieces incorporating a small amount of a loved one's ashes into the glass, creating a meaningful keepsake to honour and remember someone special. These commissions can be created in a variety of forms, depending on your wishes.

Every custom piece begins with a conversation. My goal is to create something that carries meaning, beauty, and a personal connection that can be treasured for years to come.
Custom work is available by commission only. A design fee and non-refundable deposit are required to begin a commission. Pricing is determined by the size, complexity, materials, and individual requirements of the artwork.
